A women's professional tennis tournament took place in Jurmala, Latvia. Latvia's No. 1 and top seed Anastasija Sevastova claimed the title, winning Baltic Open. WTA described this event as "a tennis festival with a good atmosphere."
The tournament's prize money was $750,000, a significantly higher amount than the usual norm at WTA International-level events. Olga Danilović went on to win her first WTA Tour title by defeating Anastasia Potapova.
The tournament attracted high ranked players. Ladies Cup was held at the Alexander Ostrovsky Academy in Khimki. It was the only $100,000 ITF tournament in Russia in the 2018 season.
TOP U14 players attended the tournament. It was named the Best Organized Tournament of the 2015 Year by European Tennis Federation. Players at Super Category events benefit from increased ranking points and additional services.
The Open Championship U10 is held annually in July. The tournament is open to international players and is the only event in Russia for this age group that includes a full singles qualifying draw and doubles draw.
